NOVELL GroupWise 6
GroupWise® 6 is a secure, dynamic collaboration solution that offers your traditional and deskless users support for any communication over intranets, extranets and the Internet. Helping you meet business objectives, GroupWise 6 utilizes industry-leading technology to accelerate corporate productivity. With this solution, your organization will see improved collaboration processes that promote customer loyalty and help you successfully conduct eBusiness across the Net.

GroupWise 6 includes the only bundled wireless solution in the industry, Novell® GroupWise Wireless, which runs on any device that supports Wireless Access Protocol (WAP). The addition of this wireless solution increases the scope of how and where collaboration takes place in your system. With GroupWise 6 and a supported wireless device-including a wireless telephone, a personal digital assistant (PDA) or a wireless laptop computer-even deskless workers can take advantage of the collaboration services provided by GroupWise 6.

For example, a delivery agent is approached by a customer during her weekly delivery route. The customer requests that an additional ten units be added to next week's shipment. Because she uses GroupWise 6, the driver can easily access all of her collaboration options through her PDA and place the order immediately. With GroupWise 6 you can extend the customer service capabilities of every employee who has access to a WAP-enabled device, as well as facilitate communication between employees across your corporation.

GroupWise 6 protects your messages by leveraging industry-standard public-key infrastructure technologies. Because GroupWise 6 also supports Internet-standard protocols, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), and gateway integration, secure interoperability with virtually any other collaboration system is ensured.

GroupWise 6 also includes Smart Caching, a caching mode that enables you to work from your hard drive without maintaining a constant connection to the GroupWise server. With Smart Caching you can decrease server requests by up to 90 percent and server overhead by more than 50 percent, thereby reducing overall networking costs.

GroupWise 6 offers tighter integration with NDS® eDirectory™ and support for Novell Cluster Services™ running on NetWare® 5.x and 6.x. The integration with eDirectory provides a single point of administration for both GroupWise and the network, as well as enhanced remote management capabilities. This means that GroupWise can be managed with a laptop, miles from the office, allowing your administrator to focus on achieving business goals rather than dealing with routine network maintenance tasks.

GroupWise 6 supports multiple languages across multiple time zones. The initial release of GroupWise 6 includes support for the following languages: Czech, Danish, Dutch, English/US, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish. Support for a total of 21 languages will be available in the second half of 2001.

GroupWise 6 supports NetWare 5.x and 6.x and Windows 2000/NT. GroupWise 6 runs on Windows 2000/NT, Windows 95/98, Windows 3.1 and UNIX.
